Our Last Week with Nae & Fam

Renae, Dave, and Karsen triple-teamed the picture taking this week to make sure that all of our last memories with their family (let me be clear...last memories in Albuquerque...not last memories ever, because we will see Renae in a few months, everyone is coming up for a Vikings-Packers game -Dave that's your heads up!- , and I'm adopting Karsen as my honorary god son so will see him on birthdays and graduations and so on...).

What a week.  Asher & Sullivan were wrapped up in so much love from these guys (and I can't leave Eric out, he and Sully bonded this week!), it is hard to imagine our time at Nae's house is done.  And we just won't, because then we cry, and that is sad.  So instead we will look at the happy memories from the week and hold on to those instead.

Second to last day at Nae's.  On Monday Asher had asked for muffins, when he showed up on Wednesday, muffins had magically appeared, just waiting to be made.

Ash & Boo

Thursday night, Asher went out (without mom and dad!) for ice cream with Renae, Dave, and Karsen.

This picture is now the background on my phone.  Love it.

Goofs.

Asher's last day.

...treats just for him :)

I suppose I shouldn't leave Sullivan out... it was his last day too :)

Karsen and Asher hung out all day long.  Happy boys.

Family movie time!

Maybe a little unsure about the movie :)
(Karsen, you caught this picture perfectly!)

Dave & Sully

I brought Renae all my fridge leftovers.  I'm pretty sure those who know me well could have identified me by this bag.  Butter, half & half, and green chile salsas (multiples).

Meanwhile...

I love you.  Times a billion.

7 Months Old

To top off this day of whirling swirling feelings, Sullivan is 7 months old today.
Little peanut is not so little anymore.

At 7 months old, Sullivan is definitely not a sitter :)

Ice cream is the Answer. Always.

The combination of Asher not understanding why all of his things are in boxes paired with his mommy listening to Nobody Knows by the Tony Rich Project on repeat (the usual moving song) has led to a lot of emotional outbursts from both parties this week.  Which in turn, has led to a lot of ice cream.  Which isn't the worst thing that has ever happened.

Last Day at Paradise Hills Nursery School

Yeah.  This has been a long and emotional day.  After the pancake fiasco, I brought Asher to school for his last day at 'camp'.

Sully and I headed back about 40 minutes later to volunteer with a handful of other parents for the easter egg hunt.  When I got there, I saw that Asher's teachers had switched up the schedule to make him the line leader for the day, so that he wouldn't miss his last turn.  They had also printed a picture of his big goofy face and put it on the wall about 2 1/2 feet up so that 'all his friends can say hi to him every day!'.  Yep.  Nose was tingling...tears were almost coming... but then the egg hunt started.  And that was hilarious.

Imagine letting 13 puppies out into a fenced in area that is littered with treats.  Only they are puppies and haven't seen treats before, so they don't know what they are and don't really care.  But then one little puppy figures it out and starts eating them, which the other puppies notice right away, and soon you have a frenzy of puppies galloping all over the place, falling down, tripping over their big puppy feet, running into each other, frantically getting as many treats as they can.  That is what an easter egg hunt with 2 and 3 year olds looks like.  And it was exactly what I needed right in that moment.

Line leader Asher with Ms. Stacy.

Good boy Asher.

Goodbye Dinner with the Millers.

Because they are visiting this summer and because ultimately I will convince them to move to Minnesota, I'm considering this a soft goodbye.  But it still sucks.

I love this picture.

And this one.

Telling secrets.
