Sully is 6

Sweet Sully you are 6 years old. You are such a kind and thoughtful child, you pay attention to the people around you and are always trying to make things fun. You love sports (all of them, every sport), chicken nuggets, chips, and making art. You also love playing legos, where you make believe all sorts of extraordinary things (you have the best imagination) and watching Frozen. You are a cuddly kid and every morning since we moved into this house you pitter patter into our room when the sunrise wakes you up and crawl into bed with me to sleep for another hour until it's time to get up. Those are some of my favorite minutes in the day.

You make me laugh and you bring me so, so much joy. You are such an incredibly special human and I love you so much. Happiest birthday, you're going to love everything that comes along with being 6 💗

We celebrated your birthday with your best friend Isaac. Chipotle, cupcakes topped with cookies, and lots of laughing and silliness. We had to cancel your birthday party with all your preschool friends (COVID) but I don't think you could have had more fun. It was a wonderful way to celebrate being 6. 💕

Last get together with Hand in Hand buddies before kindergarten!

Got together with two of Sully's BFFs from HiH yesterday -- he was so happy to see his friends. Hard to believe tomorrow is his "practice run" at kindergarten.

Discovering all the things the forest has to offer

This morning I spent about two hours walking the property to scope out where we'll put a perimeter trail and this mama and her two babies hung out about twenty feet from me for a good thirty minutes, eating and hanging out while I did my thing. The first time I ran into her she snorted and stomped her feet at me... we are making progress.

The woods here remind me of Portland. Everything is bright green and covered in moss.

Collecting acorns and leaving them for the mama and two babies.

Pulled from camp on account of Delta -- but we still have fun.

Monster blanket forts.

Watching all the deer.

Mondays are hard.

Building forts outside.

End of Soccer

Visit Shenanigans

Dogs. Beer. Meat sticks. Kind of all there is.

Getting ready to chainsaw up the giant oak that the tree guys brought down the day before.

Hiding from chainsaws.

Ben chainsawed for all of 8 minutes before he got stung by a wasp. Second ER visit for stings in two weeks. Luckily we learned he only has really bad local reactions to wasps, but not an anaphylactic allergy. So it's just the bees.

Post-hospital stop at Fleet Farm for a head to toe bee suit.

Then all attention was geared on destroying the wasp nest. In addition to a bee suit, propane and a blow torch were purchased.

Watching it burn.

Survivor joy.

....and just because they are adorable and I can't get enough of the tree frogs.

Sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's

The boys were sooooo excited to go to Grandma and Grandpa's tonight!

Keeping busy :)

Mom and dad capitalizing on grown up time... eating like kings, running a billion errands, going to bed early.

Adventures in the Yard

Discovering stickseed.

Goldenrod.

Path to the pond.

Frog friend.

Paper wasp nest (the size of a basketball... we steered way clear.

I pulled buckthorn for about thirty minutes with deer just hanging out about twenty feet away, munching on trees. And this time they didn't stomp and snort at me. We are making progress in our friendship.
