Honest Moment Mondays

I am starting a new blog tradition called 'Honest Moment Mondays', because what is life without embarassing ourselves and sharing those moments that make us human?

At work, Sara and I decided to walk the halls while we talked shop instead of sitting in the conference room.  So off we went, pacing from one end of the building to the other, back and forth. About ten minutes in I said, "You aren't going to believe this, but we gotta stop, I am getting the worst calf cramp."  It would appear that my continued delay of re-introducing exercise into my life is really starting to bite me in the butt.  As walking, leisurely...indoors...on a flat carpeted surface...for a very short amount of time, is causing me the kind of physical discomfort one would expect after, oh I don't know, running a 5k or mountain biking or doing 50 burpees.  So tomorrow I have a tour at the Y at noon and we will see if they can motivate me to a level of physical activity that prevents further 'Honest Moment Monday' moments.

Life in Minnesota

Life in Minnesota is, in a word, busy.  Ben is officially done working for Sandia now, and is enjoying a leisurely two weeks off of work before he starts at Vixar.  I'm up and running at Livio and loving every minute of it.  Asher has started school and is so happy to be in a class of 15 boys (and one girl!).  Sullivan has made more doctors visits in Minnesota than he did in Albuquerque (go figure) but is doing really well is officially a sitting baby!

We are in our place.  With our people.  Doing our thing.

Life is good.

Asher has a new school and is meeting new friends :)

Asher has officially started preschool in Minnesota, and he is loving it.  The second day he woke up begging to go to school, and sobbed when Ben picked him up.  Sullivan will join him there soon, we are feeling really lucky to have both kids in a place we already love.

Second day of preschool and a field trip to the zoo.  Asher & Ben got to ride the bus to Como and find all the animals.

Here we are.

Don't let the picture fool you.  Getting TO Minnesota was not that easy.  Asher launched a Grade A hours-long temper tantrum that was not made better by the Grumy Mr. No Kids we sat next to on the flight or the all out sprint through the Denver airport.... but.... we made it.

Since we have been in Minnesota: we have unloaded all of our stuff from the moving truck and will reload it into pods this weekend, called over two dozen childcare providers hoping for openings, matched Asher with a really great preschool, struck out completely with Sullivan (what? who wouldn't want Sullivan?), I will have left a job, interviewed for and turned down an offer for a job, and accepted and started a job, bought a house (!), been to the ER, visited Mankato, and surprise surprise, not gotten much sleep.  When I write it all out, the list seems short.  But the last ten days have been intense.  And jam packed.  And wonderful.  And chaotic.  And like I said, while we have no shortage of excitement and change, we are pretty short on sleep.

But that's okay.  Because we are home.

We got in Saturday afternoon.  By Sunday night we were in the ER.  Sounds about right doesn't it?  Sullivan had a bad night- but after an ultrasound, xray, lab work, and an IV, little guy checked out and got to go home.  We see a pediatric allergist in May to figure out if the new hypoallergenic formula is actually working out okay.

Sullivan has just been falling asleep at random times.

What an interview with the Ryan White Program looks like.
Long Live Livio.

We went to visit baby goats!
