7 weeks ago if Asher had come down with a cold I would have been upset. Partly because I have actual borderline clinical PTSD over Asher's year of being unwell, but partly because a 2 1/2 year old with a cold would have been the worst thing possible in our house. But perspective is everything. And today, it turns out, a 2 1/2 year old with a cold is not the worst thing... a 6 week old with a cold is the worst thing. Yep. Poor Sullivan James experienced his first 24 hours of illness yesterday. Luckily he kicked it almost as quickly as it came, but it made for a very sad and distressing day.
Mommy, go away, I don't feel good.
Just kidding come back! All I want to do is sleep on you.
Saddest sick eyes ever.
After five sleepless, weeping hours he settled down and was able to rest. We didn't ever 'unstick' his lip for fear of waking him up and starting all over.
Amazingly he slept great during the night and woke up almost back to 100%. Asher is still under the weather, but like I said, these days a 2 year old with a tiny cold is something I can live with.
Plus he isn't doing all that bad- still able to build a farm at breakfast.
Snuggle bunny kicks the cold!
