Asher had his (belated) 18 month appointment yesterday. He weighs 24 pounds even (no change since November, but for the billionth time his pediatrician told me not to worry so I'm doing my best not to worry) and is 33.5 inches tall. When Dr. Good took out his stethoscope, Asher said "bum bum...bum bum...bum bum..." like a heartbeat and we agreed he has been to far too many doctors. So hopefully this is the end of it! Dr. Good said the name of the game is to get through the winter without back-to-back-to-back respiratory infections, as this is when Asher really faces set backs with weight gain and eating. He agreed that we do not need to go back to a feeding/eating specialist or do a repeat swallow study at this time (yay!). His exact words were that we aren't out of the woods, but that he hopes that by spring next year Asher's drinking and eating will be completely normal with no symptoms/concerns. After talking to him and watching him monkey around in the exam room for 45 minutes, he also said, "Wow. He is 100% boy. Good luck." (He might have said that right after Asher pulled out all the drawers one at a time and tried to climb up them to the counter top).
After three shots, both Asher and I got suckers. Except someone hijacked mine on the way to the car.
Not too bad considering it was his first time having a sucker!
