Isn't it nice when you have those days where everything just seems to work?
Our lives the last few months have been so unpredictable and reactionary and on edge... while there have been lots of moments and hours that have been lovely... the whole day of perfection has been a less frequent event. Not to seem ungrateful, "perfect" days with a 2 year old are not something one expects... which is why it is so awesome when they happen. Another side note is that 'perfect' is really "as good as it can be with Ben in Albuquerque". Because days when we are 1,000 miles from Ben are not perfect days. BUT. All of that being said. Today was a good, good day.
We had Caribou with Grandma, sent Daddy a present, played with Auntie Tractor, Aidan, & Mac, perfected somersaults, & visited an amazing nature-based preschool with Auntie Mingo. I even managed to do a considerable amount of work, a good thing as we found out this week that we were randomized to the January 1, 2016 start date for the CMS innovation grant we were recently awarded. The neighbor who will be spending time with Asher while I work during the day starts tomorrow (yay!) as his new babysitter, but I owe a very big 'thank you' to Karen for having been so incredible about watching Asher while I have meetings and doctors appointments up until now. It is no small task to take in a high maintenance pregnant lady and a higher maintenance 2-year old, but she does it with such grace and love. What would we do without family?
