Oh how life's about to change....

The last week has been a whirlwind...

On Friday the 21st we ended up at the hospital for some extra monitoring for Baby Sully.

Asher and Ben did a good job keeping me company while they listened to Sully for thirty minutes and then cut us loose.  Asher loves hospitals- loooots of buttons to push.

Saturday night Ben and I went to Tiff's wedding.  Five hours after we got home I went into labor...and then stayed in labor... for a long time.

One last night being pregnancy pals with Steph :)

Sunday (...still in labor), Dad came up and we went to lunch (ate some hot wings...that helps with having a baby, right?) and then went to the park with Caleb & Allie.  Lots of walking.  Lots of trying to convince Sully it was time to born... but he just hung out in his hot tub while I worked through contractions every 10-12 minutes for about 30 hours.

Dancing.

You can never be too safe playing soccer...

Asher's last day as an only child... my sweet boy :)

Asher & Milanka

Asher has found a new playmate in the Twin Cities... and from the looks of it Mila has found herself a boyfriend :)

Checking out Baby Valencio.

Nothing to see here supervisory adults!

Asher's First Minnesota State Fair

Aunt Allie & Uncle Caleb took Asher to his first Minnesota State Fair on Friday!

Diggers, dancing, bubbles, slides, cows, and cart food = Happy Asher.

Going down the giant slide with Aunt Allie.

Checking out Uncle Caleb's masterpiece
(Caleb is an engineer at Toro and worked on producing/designing the Dingo)

First taste of Lefsa :)

It's Monday

We had a 'first' today.  Asher was stung by a wasp for the first time.  This awakened a quiet fury in me as I wanted to round up all of the yellow & black bugs with stingers in the universe and kill them all (...not a pleasant idea, and not at all normal for someone who is very concerned about the plight of honeybees...).  But he was a champ and luckily, no allergic reaction.

Some more photos from Auntie Mingo of our zoo extravaganza yesterday
Walking in....like bosses.

Bears.  Really big bears.

Dad hanging out with the muttleys tonight...dang are they going to go through some 'stuff' when we separate them...

Sunday Labor Day? Nope.

We made a valiant effort to have me go into labor today.  Lots of walking and being up and around.  Our day started with a trip to the Minnesota Zoo with Auntie Mingo and Uncle Tim and then Dad and Jo came up to visit and we took Asher to Teddy Bear Park in Stillwater (which is amazing).  I have been resting, drinking water, eating snacks, and channeling "let's get things moving Sully!" vibes for the rest of the afternoon, but he seems to be pretty content for the time being.

How have I not learned yet that I don't call the shots, the tiny one does?

Look of apprehension? Anticipation? Caution?

Tiny Pengin.

Otters.

Asher's favorite zoo exhibit of all....the fountain.

Teddy Bear Park
(Don't let the grey skies fool you...it was about a bajillion degrees outside...)

Awww, so cute.

Start em' young... rock climbing will be a family activity.

Ben temporarily forgetting his parenting duties to determine if the wall was climbable.

Busted.

Grandma isn't one for observing from afar... time to get right in there!

Chocolate covered pretzels and lollipops at Teddy Bear Park... rough life.

Dad pouring water on Asher's head... he may have gotten a little hot running around.

So serious.  Yes.  Hands are dirty.
