First Trip to the Theater

On Sunday Ash & I went to see The Sneetches at the Children's Theater.  Silly mom, thought a Dr. Suess play was a great idea for an introduction... but didn't think about the fact that it would probably be loud and insane and bright and very Suess-y (which just freaked Asher out).   We made it to intermission, then opted for a nearby neighborhood park :)

He did love having balcony seats...until fireworks went off.

Eyeballing the exit...

He may not have been sure about Suess... but I have no doubt this kid will eventually find himself acting in a play.

Sully Sul Sul

Why do I feel like we've been here before?
Someday, my child will be healthy.  I swear.
Poor Sullivan just finished ten days of antibiotics, and then on Tuesday started eye drops for pinkeye, and last night developed yet another ear infection.  But here's the thing... healthcare for kids in the Twin Cities is amazing.  When I called his ENT doc to let her know, I got a call back 5 minutes later from a provider who said, "Why don't you bring him in and we will talk and take a look at him, can you be here in an hour?"  They think it might be his adenoids and cultured his ear, if it shows upper respiratory bugs then we start down the path of "wait and see" for adenoid surgery.

In the meantime, Sullivan has been pretty sleepy.  And his normal, lovable, sweet self.

Fast asleep on my lap at the doctors office.

Hanging out with mom at an appointment.

At the ENT.

Making friends in the waiting room.

My Proudest Moment as a Mom.

Asher's class is learning about space.  There arts and crafts project for the day was to pick out paper, draw a circle, cut it out, and describe what it looked like when they landed on Mars.

The first two are examples of his classmates.  Asher's is the last one.

Yeah.  I don't have words.

Girls Weekend

It was girls weekend, and it was lovely.  Lots of lounging in sweatpants, talking about community building and knowledge translation, chips & queso, and uber rides.

While two of the three of us were strictly forbidden from going on the ice, I did not receive such an order, and ended up on the ice.  Which was a great call.

Turns out, we are really, really bad at pool.

We started a list of all the things we did/saw this weekend that should't happen in mid-February in Minnesota: the ice castles are closed because they are melting, Angie wore sandals all weekend, kids were sitting outside eating ice cream, we had brunch on patios, we never wore coats... the list goes on and on.

Meanwhile, in Mankato... :)

These two make my heart squeak.  Little explorers :)

Asher's Second Time Rock Climbing | Joleen's First Time Rock Climbing

Jo came up to the cities today to go rock climbing and hang out with us for a few hours (how lucky are we?).  She did an amazing job for her first time on the wall.
And Asher loved climbing with his Grandma.

This little monkey was amazing on Day 2.

The biggest gold star goes to Jo!

The cheering squad.

"Belay on!  On belay!"  That's not true.  I'm just holding his monkey tail.

Overcoming a fear of heights... one 60 foot wall at a time.
